While it might not be the most powerful Corvette out there, a role taken by the 755 horsepower ZR1, the Z06 can certainly hold its own, especially considering its great value. The basic Z06 goes for about $80,000, a solid price for a quality sports car with 650 horsepower.
Thanks to the enormous incentives which GM offers on Corvettes, car buyers can expect to take off up to $10,000 from the original sticker price. If you’re still worried that this machine will break your bank, don’t stress. Used Z06 models can give you some serious bang for your buck. Whatever your price range might be, we can find the Z06 for you.
First on our list is the C7 generation. Clearly the most expensive of the used Z06s on our list, the C7 comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8. This allows the vehicle to reach 650 horsepower and 650 lb/ft of torque. While you might not consider this vehicle “cheap,” if you look hard enough, you can easily find used models selling for under $60,000. This saves you about $20,000 compared to buying one new.
Another solid option is the C6 generation, which we consider to be the “sweet spot” of power and interior. While the price might not match that of the C5, we would still highly recommend the 505 horsepower C6 on account of its 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine. Prices for a used C6 Z06 can range from under $30,000 to $60,000.
If you’re not looking to surpass the $20,000 mark, a used C5 Z06 is the sports car for you. This machine was sold between 2001 and 2004. It comes with a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 which generated 385 horsepower. In 2002, Corvette also came out with a 405 hp version. The biggest drawback of the C5 would have to be the interior, which falls short of modern-day standards by a long shot.
