Chevrolet unveiled their new 2019 Corvette Drivers Series special-edition Grand Sport on January 25, exciting both racing fans and gearheads alike. The launch, which happened at Daytona on the Friday, features four brand new models that were designed alongside the Corvette Racing Team.
According to Steve Majoros, the director of Chevy’s crossover and passenger car marketing, this series of cars celebrates their winning legacy and their world-class team of drivers. Each vehicle has a unique color and graphics package, with design input from Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen, Oliver Gavin, and Tommy Milner.
So, what can we expect from these new Grand Sport editions? Antonio Garcia has designed a Racing Yellow car, complete with black and red detailing. Jan Magnussen’s edition is Arctic White, with black, red, and gray details. The Oliver Gavin edition is a sleek Shadow Gray, with a red center stripe and red detailing. Finally, Tommy Milner has gone for Lake Blue, alongside silver, red, and black details. Those who want one can either pick their favorite driver or for the style they like the most.
While the exterior may be a head-turner, Chevrolet haven’t let their fans down with what’s on the inside either. Each of the cars has a naturally aspirated V-8 engine with 460 hp, along with a dry-sump oiling system, just like the race cars themselves. Want to take your Grand Sport edition for a spin on the track? It can handle it.
If you want to get your hands on one of the Corvette Driver Series special-edition Grand Sports, then you don’t have long to wait. According to Chevrolet, they’ll be released in the spring of this year, and there will be no set production number. So, if you want one, you need to start showing interest now!
