The Schumacher name will once again be seen in the Formula One grid in 2021 as the son of the seven-time world champion makes his debut for the Haas team. Mick Schumacher, who currently leads the F2 title race, has signed a multi-year deal with the American Formula One team. The young driver has been racing for the last two seasons of the series and has been seen on the podium ten times, winning two of the competitions.

The Ferrari junior and his fellow F2 racer Nikita Mazepin will both be racing for the new team of the American Haas Formula One team, replacing Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean. The Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner said he was very pleased they were able to confirm Mick Schumacher for the next season. He said that the Formula Two Championship is the ideal proving ground for talented drivers to show their skill and that Mick has done so by winning races, collecting podiums, and outperforming exceptionally talented racers.

The racer said that he always believed he would realize his dream and race in Formula One. He thanked his motorsport fans for their support throughout his career and vowed to give it his all on the track. The young Schumacher now looks forward to starting his new journey together with Haas F1. He also thanked his new team, the Ferrari Driver Academy and Scuderia Ferrari, for placing their trust in him, and he extended his love to his parents.
Before his debut with Haas, Schumacher will go on an FP1 session at the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Then, he will do some tuning in the end-of-season test. Mick arrives in F1 after becoming the winner of the Formula Three European Championship in 2018, joining the Ferrari Academy the next year, and driving in F2 after that. He will become the third member of the Schumacher family to race in Formula One, after his uncle Ralf and father Michael.
